Rippe Angus
We have been in the seedstock business since 1993. We were focused on raising Gelbvieh & Balancer cattle until we decided to enter the Angus business in 2022. I would say “This is not our first rodeo.” We decided to get in the Angus breed by selecting a few of the top cows in the breed to flush or purchase embryos. Our base is made up entirely of cows that we feel are some of the best in the breed.
What sets us apart?
Rippe Angus is not doing anything different than our Rippe Gelbvieh core values . We work tirelessly to collect more in herd data than our competitors. On the cowherd side, we are part of Maternal Plus. We weigh each cow every fall, we collect udder scores on every cow that calves, and we measure cow efficiency using % body weight weaned. We also collect docility scores on all the bulls.
We purchase customer calves each year and feed them out to see how our genetics are working. We don’t overlook the basics. Structurally sound, good feet, and natural fleshing ability are staples in our breeding program. Bottom line is we work hard to collect data for our customers to use in selection of their herd sires, thus increasing the profitability of their operation.
